Once class is dismissed, we turn activities into awesome after school academics! We will immerse your child in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) at STEM Stars, with new challenges to test their imagination. A line-up of our challenges include Kitchen Chemistry, Stomp Rocket SySTEM, Stunt Planes, The Physics of Fidget Spinners, Grand Slam STEM, Caddie's Choice, Football Playbook, Game of Hoops, and much, much more. Every session our curriculum changes to keep our program new and fun! All lessons are aligned with NGSS and PA Science Standards and age appropriate.
A $30 materials fee is due to the instructor the first day of class!
STEM Stars includes reverse engineering activities for students. Rather than a materials fee, we ask children to bring upcycle items and a small electronic toys/items from home for your child to meddle with and discover. Why do we upcycle and take apart items? Research of our world’s greatest innovators showed a commonality that as children, they all took apart household items, re-imagining them into new prototype concepts! In the National Inventor’s Hall of Fame, the Collegiate Inventors Competition finalist, NeoVent, used a yogurt container and duct tape to create their prototype which later became a lifesaving infant respirator used in third world countries! Once enrolled, we will email you with a list of acceptable upcycle items.
