For the First Time Annie B’s Kitchen is offering semi-professional series of Cooking & Baking Classes. The three classes are designed to build on one another.
Day 1
Stocks, Soups, and Sauces are the foundation of any cuisine. Learn the perfect way to create a flavorful stock and the creation of the soups and sauces that the stocks make possible.
Day 2
Saute and Pan Sauces. The understanding of sauté opens the door to hundreds of preparations. Learn to sauté properly, Hot Pan, Hot Oil and make it delicious!!! Pan sauces are made in the same pan. A la minute.
Day 3
Braising, Steaming, and Poaching
We will focus on simple techniques that will translate into many, many different meals. Learn the art of braising, turning an inexpensive cut of meat into a rich fulfilling meal. Chicken Braised in Apple Cider, Short Ribs Braised in Red Wine, Braised Lamb Shanks with garlic and rosemary, to name just three of the enticing possibilities. Steaming, preserving the flavors of your ingredients with fast cooking and minimal heat application. Poaching, cooking food immersed in water.
*A $20 materials fee is due to the instructor at the beginning of class. A Full meal is served with this class!
